Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular
Availability: Francisco area, end of May 2025 (!!)
My name is Felix, from Germany. I'm the owner of a 1995/1996 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular, which is well kept in a shed of a good friend near Dallas all over the year. I use it temporarily to explore the extraordinary highlights of the States. In springtime this year we did a 6000 mls roadtrip from Dallas to the great deserts and landscapes in the western states until LA, then way back to TX.
Next year - May and June - we plan to explore California, west coast from San Diego until San Francisco.
Meanwhile - because we love the RT concept - we found a nice 94 RT here in Germany, which we actually use for our trips in Europe.
After our next trip to CA we want to sell our Dodge RT.
The main reason for this really early announcement is, that somebody who might be interested in buying our RT, could inspect the vehicle on our next roadtrip, so we could plan a meeting.
Some facts in a short overlook:
manufactured 8/1995
87000mls
VIN 2B6KB31Z1SK572265
Clean Texas Title, clean Carfax, no accidents
360cui Magnum V8 gasoline
The engine runs superstrong and smooth, has no oil consumption and does not have any oil leaks.
The automatic transmission shifts incredile smooth and precise.
I did a complete revision of presumably weak or worn parts:
new timing belt
new ignition coil
new air filter
oil filter & oil
all brakes revisioned, perfect working.
Trailer hitch.
Chassis & suspension:
well known as a weak point is the (Dodge) suspension:
I can firmly confess: there is NO road wandering or swaying or wobble:
I let the phantastic Big D steering stabilizer install in a workshop,
as well as solid new Monroe shocks front and behind.
You can NOT find any severe rust neither at the bottom nor suspension, frame or body! Specially the front suspension and frame are absolutely clean and still with original paint !
Inside:
the wooden furnitures and cabinets are in mint condition as well as the seats, sofas and captains chairs and curtains.
All RT camping systems are working. Propane tank ok, furnace, hot water, cooking burners, fridge, shower as well.
Some issues:
there is still the original Onan gen and AC installed. I let both systems running for a short time. AC did not cool. Onan has some problem with gasoline pumping. But as we never went to cold regions, we never used these systems.
If I would come into the need, I would throw away these 30 year old aggregates and simply replace them with new, much more economic systems!
I replaced the original toilet with a (for us) much more flexible PortaPotti. Nevertheless you can reinstall a fix toilet in a couple of minutes, because all the connections, including water hose, are already in place!!
The outside paint.....another weak point. This thing has some dings, chips and cracis, nothing severe, but not nice as many of these old Roadtreks are. So all in all the paint is not nice. And the fiber glass lid of the lower side storage had a crack in the past as well as the drivers step. I repaired both with fiberglass epoxy and now they fullfilles their duties and are strong enough,- but not nice.
Ok, lots of description, but I only wanted to announce this sale now, so early, so that any people can look forward, if they are interested.
I would like to sell it in California (San Francisco area) at the end of May 2025 (!!!) and would take out some tools I would need at my RT here in Germany. I would let all new purchased stuff (cushions, blankets and other hardware) inside as you want.
